Let’s be honest: neither of us had dreams, hopes, or desires for a relationship at the time. We were both perfectly happy being single. But then we met, and we’re so grateful that it happened.
Last month, for our anniversary, we shared a few photos from our wedding on our personal Instagram account and posted some clips about our story. We thought it might be nice to share it here, too, with a few more details.
It all began on a Sunday morning in church. I was singing on stage, and he walked in late—classic him—but the moment I saw him, he caught my eye. He was tall, strong, and had the most gorgeous blonde hair. That same evening, at a youth group gathering at Uncle Leo’s Pizza, we ended up sitting across from each other. That’s when we struck up a conversation that, honestly, never really ended.
Within just a month, our relationship had deepened more than we ever expected. We were already talking about marriage—not because we were rushing, but because we just knew. Everything felt so easy, so natural, and love seemed to grow between us effortlessly. Every moment brought us closer, and what started as friendship quickly blossomed into something unshakable.
Then fate stepped in. I stumbled upon the most beautiful wedding dress one day—long before he even proposed. I don’t know why, but it felt like a sign of what was to come. Six months after we met, he made it official in the most unconventional but completely endearing way. We were in a jewelry store, and he handed me a ring with a simple, “Wear it!” No grand gesture—just pure, heartfelt promise.
Exactly one year after we met, we stood before God, family, and friends, promising to love and cherish each other forever. From that day forward, our journey as husband and wife began.
